The Rev. Pedro Lara | The Countdown Begins

Greetings COTHA!

I am excited to be joining the COTHA family! I look forward to getting to know you all, your stories and hopes, and learning more about God's work among you. I come to you with an open heart, ready to listen, learn, and serve Christ together. Please keep me, Gloria, and the girls in your prayers as we prepare for this new season among you all, and some extra energy as we pack! Know also that you will be in ours as well.

I am originally from Dallas (not to worry, I'm not a Cowboys fan) but have lived in southern Wisconsin for the past seven years, where I have served as the rector of Christ Church in Delavan. My wife Gloria and I are high school sweethearts who are celebrating our 14th marriage anniversary in July.

We have three girls who keep the house fun and busy: Leah (13), Emma (9), and Junia (4). I attended Nashotah House Seminary in 2014 in Nashotah, WI, and after graduation in 2017, I returned to Dallas, where I was ordained and served as curate at St. Mary's, Irving. In 2018, I accepted a call to Christ Church, where I currently serve.

Two fun facts about us:

My favorite Scripture passage? "The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save. He will rejoice over you with gladness. He will quiet you with His love. He will exalt you with singing." (Zephaniah 3:17)

Did you know? When the Wisconsin winter gets too long and unbearable, our family keeps things fun by throwing epic karaoke parties and intense family chess games!
