COTHA KIDS

We believe that families and youth are central pillars of our church and community.

We strive to strengthen all families by providing them with a strong Biblical spiritual foundation and formation through our educational and social activities, centered on basic Christian values.

At COTHA Kids, our ministry for Kindergarten through 5th grade, our mission is for every child to know and love Jesus as their Lord and Savior. We work to achieve this mission by loving and praying for every child, targeted programs, an engaging curriculum, and special events.

COTHA Kids Programs

Family Worship

Family Worship at 9:30 a.m., held in our Student Center, has a modified liturgy including a sermon, singing, and communion in a casual environment that will allow your child to act well… like a child! There is also time for you to connect with other parents in a similar stage of life over coffee and donuts, either before or after the service.

Kids Formation

During our 10:30 a.m. service, our kindergarteners through 5th-grade kids get to experience God through their grade-specific Kids Formation Groups. This includes a Bible story, activities, and prayer time. Children return to the main service during the announcements and before communion.

Coffee & Conversation

Calling all parents attending our Family Worship Service! While your children head off to Kids Formation, you're invited to get together for a time of connection, encouragement, and, of course, coffee!

Coffee & Conversation is a relaxed, welcoming space where parents can:

  • Build community with others in the same season of life.

  • Share insights, laughter, and stories of faith and family.

  • Simply take a breath and enjoy being together.

When: Sunday mornings, right after our 9:30 a.m. Family Worship Service

Where: Room 102 (in the foyer)

No RSVP needed – just come as you are and join us whenever you can.

We hope Coffee & Conversation becomes a meaningful part of your Sunday rhythm, and we look forward to seeing you there! For more information, please contact Emily Matthews-Robleto,  Ministry Coordinator for Families and Congregational Life.

Preparation for Communion

During COTHA's Preparation for Communion classes, children in 2nd grade and up will learn about the sacrament of communion while they're having fun!  From a guided tour of the church to hands-on time with the elements of communion to unique activities that explore the eucharistic service from The Book of Common Prayer, children will thoroughly enjoy these experiences designed to help them join more fully with their parish community and the larger communion of saints.

This annual class is held at 10:00 a.m. in the Kids Corner, and children return to the sanctuary to be with their parents at the Peace. Please see our calendar or contact Emily Matthews-Robleto,  Ministry Coordinator for Families and Congregational Life, for current class dates.

Even if your child has been comfortable taking communion, this class will provide a background and understanding of receiving bread and wine in our Episcopal service.

Junior Daughters of the King

Junior Daughters of the King provides girls or young women (ages 7-21) the opportunity to grow in their love and knowledge of Jesus Christ while serving their church and community. They are an integral part of the Daughters of the King Order and the hope is that they continue the mission of The Order by transitioning to senior Daughters.

JDOK is open to all girls and young women ages 7-21.

If you are interested in joining our chapter, please contact Janevieve Parks.
