Programs

Mental Health Family Support Group

1st & 3rd Sundays | 6:00–7:30 p.m.

This peer-led group is for any adult (18+) who has a loved one living with a mental health condition. It provides a safe, confidential space to connect with peers who share similar experiences. Hence, participants find they are not alone, not judged, and gain support and encouragement from others who truly understand.

Led by trained facilitators through the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), the group is free to attend and open to the community.

For more information, please contact Teri Trevino at HealingHearts-Trevino@cotha.org

Grief Support Group

2nd Sunday | 4:30–5:30 p.m.

This monthly gathering provides an opportunity to share experiences, emotions, and memories in the company of others who truly understand. Whether you are newly grieving or have been carrying your loss for some time, the group fosters connection, validation, and hope through mutual support.
Led by trained facilitators and fellow church members, each session offers guidance and encouragement to help participants navigate grief at their own pace. Many find comfort in the shared journey and strength in the bonds formed along the way.

For more information, please contact Lisa Nelson at HealingHearts-Nelson@cotha.org

Our Team

Our Healing Hearts team has completed the Mental Health Coach Training through Light University.
     •    C-MHC101-Foundations of Mental Health Coaching: American Association Christian Counselors
     •    C-MHC-201 Mental Health Coaching Skills: American Association Christian Counselors
     •    C-MHC 301-Mental and Behavioral Health Disorders: American Association Christian Counselors

This training, coupled with life experiences, provides them with the insight and tools to listen, encourage, and discuss the next steps and resources. Additionally, they are available to listen and pray with you.

Please Note: Healing Hearts is a peer support ministry, not a professional counseling service. While our team is here to listen, pray, and walk alongside you, we are not licensed therapists or mental health professionals. We can offer encouragement, spiritual support, and guidance, as well as additional resources, but we do not provide clinical diagnosis or treatment. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, we encourage you to seek help from a qualified medical or mental health provider immediately.
