July 13 Outreach Recap

This past Sunday, 15 volunteers from Holy Apostles gathered before sunrise, ready to serve. By 7:20 a.m., the tables were set, coffee and hot chocolate were brewing, and we had a moment to breathe in the quiet beauty of the morning before our guests arrived at 8:00.

We welcomed 125 guests with warm smiles and hot meals, thanks to the generous breakfast prepared by our friends from Emmanuel. We served until about 8:30, took time to clean up, and were back at Holy Apostles by 9:20, tired, grateful, and deeply moved.

As always, the best part of the morning was the people. We chatted with Hank, a kind man from Houston who couldn’t stop thanking us for the meal, and Mike, originally from New Orleans, who shared his weather woes, he can handle the heat, but he’s had enough rain.

Moments like these remind us why we do what we do. Serving side by side, sharing food and conversation, and extending the love of Christ to our neighbors. It opens your eyes and melts your heart.

We’ll be back at Holy Trinity on August 10. Join us in being part of something simple and powerful.
