COTHA Welcomes a New Local Outreach Partner

COTHA is excited to announce a new local mission and outreach partnership with The Language Harbor!

One way we live out our call to love our neighbors is by welcoming people into community, and often, that welcome begins with a conversation.

The Language Harbor offers English conversation classes for people from around the world who are learning English. These gatherings provide students with a safe, welcoming place to practice speaking, build confidence, and connect with others. We’re excited to support their work and invite members of the COTHA congregation to participate.

Be a Conversation Partner

You don’t need to speak another language or have any special teaching experience. As a conversation partner, you simply listen, encourage, and offer gentle feedback as students practice their English.

It’s a small time investment that can make a real difference. Learning English helps newcomers navigate everyday life, build relationships, and participate more fully in the communities where they live. And for us, it’s an opportunity to practice the kind of hospitality Jesus calls us to—meeting our neighbors, hearing their stories, and making room at the table.

Upcoming Conversation Classes

Classes meet in the Office Conference Room on the following dates:

Class times are 9:00–10:30 a.m. & 11:00 a.m.–12:30 p.m. You can volunteer for one or both.
