2024 El Salvador - Day 5

After breakfast and watching video proof of one of our team members taking a crazy fall, we headed out to spend time with the “kids” from CADIS in San Martin. They are special needs adults but super sweet and so much fun. We arrived at their home and played different games, crafts, snow cones, and danced. We had the best time dancing!

We were then able to take a tour of a project Sus Hijos is working on in the facility. They are building a facility for adults that will include a sensory room and a handicapped bathroom.

For lunch, we were able to get a taste of home at Subway and ice cream.

We then went to a special facility (CISNA) for young boys in a special detention facility. We played soccer, Uno, Jenga, sidewalk chalk, and face paint and shared a Bible story about Noah. We asked the question, “If you could choose an animal for Noah to leave off the ark, what animal would you choose?” Many said cucarachas (cockroaches)! It was a fun time, and the boys were great and fun to interact with.

We then finished the day with a special dinner at a delicious steak restaurant called Hacienda Real.

It was another long day but very special and fulfilling for us!

Yours in Christ,

Sterling Fuentes, El Salvador Missioner
