We go from the highlands to the flat lands and it made a huge difference.
On day one of village two we trekked the farthest today of the journeys we will take next week. As we traveled dirt roads through rice fields I noticed two cows with two kids plowing the rice fields and the way it looked it could have been 1,000 years ago.
We start winding through brush like we we're off roading and we get to the church and it seems very remote but it is obvious within an hour or so how many people live in the area. We probably had a few thousand and the people seemed much worse off than in the highlands.
The appreciation and the happiness of what was provided was evident. There were many with vision problems and several that were crippled but very happy in spirit and thankful. The people were gracious and we did a lot of praying with the adults and children.
We taught the fall of man and the salvation of Jesus through having the kids perform a puppet show for the other children. There were many kids from a couple of nearby schools. Many mothers with sick babies and children.
We ran out of medicine in the afternoon but assured them we would bring more tomorrow and be back with them. Wednesday evening we bought two days worth of medicine for the next day.
