COTHA prepared and served a Thanksgiving meal to approximately 170 homeless people at Trinity Episcopal Church on Saturday November 30. Thanks to the members of COTHA who provided money and food, and to the 24 members who prepared and served at Trinity.
Krys and I are thankful that we have been able to bless these people from our abundance and are also thankful to have been blessed by serving our grateful guests. When Krys heard about the LOTS Ministry, she felt called to do it, and she needed a secretary so I became involved too. Jesus said "what you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me". By giving from our time and resources, we feel that we have been blessed by our guests and by our LOTS team members.
This outreach by COTHA, and COTHA's focus on outreach was one of the primary drivers to us joining the church. Although we are passing along this leadership role in 2014, we still intend to participate and look forward to serving in Downtown Houston.
