it really touched my heart.
“The
moment a child is born, the mother is also born. She never existed before. The
woman existed, but the mother, never. A mother is something absolutely new.”
When
I was a new mother I was so hard on myself. I wanted to do everything
perfectly, but as any new mother knows, nothing goes the way you think it will.
But after I read this quote it all made sense. I was never a mother before so
of course everything was new and a little scary. I can’t tell you all the times
I would sit by my daughter’s bed late at night just to be sure she was still
breathing or how many times I blamed myself if she wouldn’t stop crying.
I
have learned so much over the years. I have made my fair share of mistakes but
I have also had many triumphant moments. I have always rested in the fact that
although God didn’t make me perfect, he trusted me with my three precious
children and through him I learn more and more about how to be the best mom I
can be.
"Who can find a virtuous woman? She is far more
precious than jewels... Strength and honor are her
clothing, and she can laugh at the time to come. She opens her
mouth with wisdom, and loving instruction is on her tongue. She
watches over the activities of her household and is never idle. Her
sons rise up and call her blessed. He husband also praises her:
Many women are capable, but you surpass them all! Charm
is deceptive and beauty is fleeting, but a woman who fears the Lord will be
praised. " ~Proverbs 31:10, 25-30
