It was a very calm day which is always nice. Michael did a wonderful puppet show for the children, which they loved. We were also approached about helping 5 men who need hernia operations and one woman who needs a hysterectomy. I believe the total for all 6 operations will be around $700 - amazing.
We are definitely planning to bring more reader eye glasses next year. We brought 5 and Pastor Morris had about 15 that he gave us. I loved playing "optometrist" and asking "is this one better or is this one better"? You can't imagine how fun it is to give someone a pair of glasses when the haven't been able to see well. The joy and gratitude that lights up their face is such a blessing.
The week has gone by so fast. I can't believe that tomorrow will be our last day. I have really been blessed to see friends that I have made over the years - the nurses, doctors, pastors and helpers. The are all so sweet and funny. A joy to be around and work with. One of the woman who counts medicine with us told me that she was a student in the school that I gave my testimony at 6 years ago on my first trip here. Very cool.
Hope this finds everyone well. In Christ, Karen
