Please consider joining us on the next Mission Trip to help us distribute school supplies in the colonia! The August supply distribution requires more volunteers than any other trip and also an extra day in the colonia to do all the work that must be done. If you can help, please send an email to rachel.fannin@mtmaustin.org so we can make the necessary travel arrangements and plan for transporting our love cargo.

Day 6 Fun Day! We’d love to share pictures of our day but after an unfortunate raft flipping incident, our camera is now somewhere on the bottom of the Chattahoochee river :( we did however have a wonderful time relaxing, laughing and deflating Craig’s tube…
We are finishing up VBS tonight with a recap of all the week’s activity. We’ve all been blessed by our time at Life’s Hope Baptist. We head home tomorrow, arriving at Hobby Airport at 2:25 on flight 2974. Please be there by 2:30. If your missioner needs a ride home please contact Craig@holyapostles.cc. We are excited to be coming home! Blessings from Atlanta - DM+
We continued VBS this evening…continuing to bless both the children of Life’s Hope and Cobblestone. Our missioners continue to dig deep and do the work they’ve been assigned.
Tomorrow, we play! We head to the Chattahoochee River for some rafting relaxation….pictures to follow. Just a reminder…send your missioner an email at craig@holyapostles.cc - it can be encouraging, silly or both. They love receiving them and they are read at our meal times. Finally, many, many more pictures are atwww.photobucket.com/cotha. Blessings from Atlanta - DM+ Day 4 is behind us…many, many pictures are atwww.photobucket.com/cotha …check them out!
We returned to Mrs. Harper’s house to continue clearing her fence line and bleaching/cleaning the house. What made today really special/fun was the chainsaw massacre! We took lots of turns chopping down the EVIL vines… We finished our work at Mrs. Elizabeth’s house yesterday so that team worked at the host church for the morning…lots and lots and lots of weeding and cleaning up. We continue to bear fruit from our visits to Cobblestone…we had 11 children this evening but many were different from yesterday so we have the potential for many more tomorrow night. VBS this evening was focused on the Holy Spirit. We played a game where foam balls (representing life’s troubles) were thrown at the children while they tried to ride tricycles while holding spoons with M&Ms. You know that during the breaks we had our own tricycle races…quite entertaining, I assure you! We also continue to enjoy our time with Scott England. He is a musicianary: a worship musician who has dedicated himself to missions. He has worked very hard to help make this week happen as well as coordinating devotions, debrief and worship times. You can check out his music at scottengland.com. Blessings and love from Atlanta…DM+ Day 3 photos have been added to www.photobucket.com/cotha…be sure to check them out.
Four COTHA youth joined with Scott England and the other guys for band rehearsal this morning. They were looking for ways to improve COTHA’s youth band and practice; they learned a lot. We continued our work at Mrs Harper’s and Mrs Elizabeth’s homes this morning. At Mrs. Harper’s we cleaned the roof (without event), used the chainsaw up in a tree (without event) and no more snakes were found…so lots of ministry and we returned safe and sound. At Mrs. Elizabeth’s we completed the mulching, had a couple of wheelbarrow races and visited with her at length…receiving advice for a long and happy marriage. She was recently widowed and was reminiscing on her 45 year marriage. During the afternoon, we returned to Cobblestone and met several new kids…in fact we had 11 (only 6 the day before) join us for VBS this evening…great success. Our VBS focus this evening was Jesus and all our students participated in a skit of where he took our sins to the cross. It was a powerful display of God’s compassion for us. Blessings from Atlanta - DM+ Day 2 is behind us and it’s been full of adventure! Please visitwww.photobucket.com/cotha for many more pictures…
Also, please send Craig an email at craig@holyapostles.cc with silly stories/jokes from home…mom, dad, pets etc. These emails get read at meal times and the kids love them! We began the morning at Ms. Harper’s and Ms. Elizabeth’s homes for general gardening and cleaning. As they have always done…the kids really stepped up and worked hard. Not only did they physically work hard, they worked together and got it done. We will return again tomorrow to work on the roof of Ms. Harper’s house. Go ahead and start praying this evening for the safety of our missioners! Ms Elizabeth invited her crew inside for about an hour and visited with the missioners. It was nice to have visitors as she has been a widow for about a year now. In the afternoon, we returned to Cobblestone to invite the residents to VBS this week. We knocked on lots of doors and talked to several parents. Our efforts were paid off as we had 6 children attend this evening. We are hoping they’ll go home, tell their friends and we’ll have even more tomorrow. Each child who showed up from Cobblestone was partnered up with one of our missioners so they’ll feel welcome and cared for all evening. COTHA is in charge of the games this week with Henry being the head game guy…it was very successful and the kids (ours and theirs) had a blast. Sunday, Day 1- great morning of Sunday school and worship at Life’s Hope Baptist church. Off to view work sites after lunch and then to Passion City Church this evening!
