It has been fun interacting with the Ugandan people so far, especially the children. They are so curious about us. We plan to take a soccer ball to the church tomorrow so that we can interact better with them and make the day even more fun for them and ourselves! | We received a warm welcome this morning from the Ugandan people, especially from the children! As we approached the church, we were greeted with waves from parents and their children. Some children even ran after our van, as shown in the photo above. Around 1500 people visited us today at the church to receive medical care from the Ugandan doctors, mosquito nets, healing prayers, and sing songs. It was encouraging to see the hearts of the church as they served the children and their parents. These people have so little. After we finished our water bottles, the kids collected them quickly to use as bottles of their own, perhaps in carrying them to school. Though some people dressed up in their best clothes to visit us, so many had clothes that wore out a long time ago. Thankfully, women of COTHA and other churches have made 300 dresses for the girls that we will get to hand out this week. We know they will greatly appreciate them! In addition, we are planning to leave some of our own clothing for the guys. |
Please continue to keep us and the Ugandans in your prayers as we do our best to minister to them. We greatly appreciate your support, both financially and prayerfully as you are strengthening us in the Lord to make a difference in the Ugandan people’s lives. I know this mission trip will do great things in us as well. Thanks for all you’ve done to enable us to be a part of the Lord’s work here!
