Our JH missioners are doing a wonderful job! They are all engaged, working hard and have a servant heart.
Team MVP (Matthews-Vickerman-Peeps) and Team Spier headed to the Georgetown low income housing project. Part of the team sat with the elderly residents and taught them about the World Wide Web, Facebook, email etc. They were so appreciative and our students showed impressive patience. I think it surprised them that not EVERYONE was as computer literate as they were (lol). The afternoon we spent playing games and visiting with the home residents. Craig and I played an old fashioned game of Scrabble (as opposed to Words with Friends) and I was taught a thing or two…our opponents we as sharp as a whip! |
The other part of the team helped with general maintenance for some of the residents…although it was HOT, they worked hard! Team Thompson and Team Fraher spent the morning training and team building for a kid’s camp and VBS respectively. The afternoon they visited the mission site, procured supplies and prepared lesson plans…tomorrow will be opening day. |
