Another amazing day in Uganda. The sea of people that greet us is difficult to describe. An amazing array of faces that greet us with pure joy. The children are especially animated. They are so joyous and animated, just a delight to behold. When we arrive and start to exit the vans, it is like a wave washing over you. It can be very overwhelming, and yet there is an anticipation that overtakes you. You feel that something special is about to happen.
The medical teams are exceptional. It appears to be chaotic, but there is an order to it all. You can’t imagine the sheer number of people that are seen. We had to stop the medical mission early because we were completely out of medicine by two o’clock. Some of these people had been standing in long lines for hours in the hot sun, and no one complained. To have to turn them away was heartbreaking. Perhaps the next trip, the generous people of COTHA and all of the people who support missions can up the ante for our medicines.
The prayer teams were tireless in their efforts to use healing prayer, and evangelize to such a large number of people. It seemed that each day there were more people than the last day. God was working in a remarkable way because many were brought to Christ.
The children were enraptured by the story of the lost sheep. To see them become so quite, and listen so intently. They are so interested in everything, and they absorb it all so easily. Some of them learned the words to Jesus Loves Me.
We have tomorrow off, and then on Sunday we will attend church. We are all looking forward to that. Please keep the people of Uganda and the mission teams in your prayers.
